No fue hace mucho que hable con un gran amigo que acababa de regresar de estados unidos después de dos años de un largo y tortuoso MBA.
Fue contratado en una gran cadena de supermercados, para darse cuenta que aunque bien remunerado, no sabía hacer absolutamente nada. Sus conocimientos en Colombia eran prácticamente inútiles, pues Boston podrá ser muy elegante pero aquí las cosas se hacen diferente.
Conversando, me contó que el hubiera preferido comprar un negocio con el dinero que se gasto estudiando y que tal vez sabría más y de paso se habría lucrado. No tendría tal vez las puertas abiertas al mundo corporativo, pero pues a quien le interesa, si es lo mismo que seguir en el colegio. Pues está el montador, el nerd, el que no hace nada y los superiores lo aman, se cumplen horarios , todos compiten entre sí y se rigen por estúpidos códigos de conducta.
Yo quise en un principio recorrer ese camino pero sus palabras me alertaron.
Supe que había una cigarrería en ruinas pero con buena ubicación. Opté por aventurarme y aquí estoy. No se la verdad que va a pasar, mi aprendizaje será sobre la marcha en múltiples disciplinas. Ustedes juzgarán.
It wasn't long since i spoke to a friend after he got back from the u.s after 2 years of a long a windy MBA.
He was soon hired by well known supermarket chain just to realize that even tough he was making money, he was useless, his knowledge in Colombia was practically useless. Boston can be very elegant, but things here are different.
While we were talking, he told me he wishes he had bought a business instead of wasting his money studying, in that way he would have learned more and could have made a profit. Probably the corporate world would have closed its doors on him, but who wants that anyway.
it’s the same as being in high school, there is the bully , the nerd , the lazy one that receives all the love from his superiors, everyone is on schedule , everyone is competing and they all follow stupid rules of conduct.
I wanted to take that path at the beginning but his words served as an alert. I knew that there was a convenience store in ruins in a good location. I took the challenge and here I am. I don’t know what is going to happen since my learning will be as things come in multiple disciplines. You will judge me.
